A 100+ Year Policy That Worked

It was called non-interventionism, and the US did not suffer from terrorist attacks in those days because of it. The US didn't go out and invade countries deemed a threat to them back then, just some imperialist excursion out West that led to the genocide of the Native Americans and the Mexican-American War of 1847. Sure, there were Native Americans killing white western imperialists. But that was because we were taking away their land. WE WERE IN THEIR TERRITORY! OCCUPYING IT! Just like what we're doing in Iraq today.

So how about we withdraw troops from our colonies- er, I mean, military bases- around the world? Who can forget how Japanese students rioted because our bases there were waypoints for aircraft sending supplies to our soldiers stationed in Vietnam? They don't want us there. And it costs us billions of dollars to operate such bases. Most of which we are using not to defend ourselves, but the country we're in (South Korea?)!
