Olmert Resigns

So Olmert is resigning. He was about the same as every other Israeli leader, killing Palestinian children and expanding West Bank settlements. But at least he was attempting to negotiate with the Syrians and "Palestinians" (Mahmoud Abbas- YOU DO NOT REPRESENT THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE!). But looking at his likely successors, the right-wing "let's bomb Iran and bring gas to $10 dollars a gallon" Benjamin Netanyahu and the ex-right wing MOSSAD agent and daughter of former terrorists Tzipi Livni, Olmert looks like the greatest man to ever lead Israel.

So who wants to get drafted and go fight in Iran?

A 100+ Year Policy That Worked

It was called non-interventionism, and the US did not suffer from terrorist attacks in those days because of it. The US didn't go out and invade countries deemed a threat to them back then, just some imperialist excursion out West that led to the genocide of the Native Americans and the Mexican-American War of 1847. Sure, there were Native Americans killing white western imperialists. But that was because we were taking away their land. WE WERE IN THEIR TERRITORY! OCCUPYING IT! Just like what we're doing in Iraq today.

So how about we withdraw troops from our colonies- er, I mean, military bases- around the world? Who can forget how Japanese students rioted because our bases there were waypoints for aircraft sending supplies to our soldiers stationed in Vietnam? They don't want us there. And it costs us billions of dollars to operate such bases. Most of which we are using not to defend ourselves, but the country we're in (South Korea?)!

The Balkans

Why get involved in a region where groups like this and this enjoy a decent amount of support? Why not just stay out? Why couldn't the EU bomb the fuck out of Serbia? Why did we have to be so supportive of Kosovan independence and put our citizens lives at risk (remember how those rioters tried to burn down the US Embassy in Belgrade?)?

Foreign Policy Awesome Time

Our foreign policy is terrible. Just think long and hard. Or continue to read my blog to figure it out.

I'm too cool to be liberal, conservative, neo-conservative, or a socialist. I'm a Paineist. A left-libertarian. I like free-markets. I also like a government pension for senior citizens. I don't like policing an empire.

There are only a handful of smart people in this nation. People like Mike Gravel, Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, Mary Ruwart, and Jessie Ventura (yes, he's a bit unorthodox, but he doesn't take shit from anyone). Sadly, no one really pays attention to them. It's a shame. That's why our nation is the decline (but if Bill O'Reilly hears you say that, you're being unpatriotic).

Hearing Condoleeza (don't care if I spelt it wrong) Rice condemn people like Robert Mugabe makes me laugh. While she condemns him for beating up political dissidents, she's cheering on Hosni Mubarak who's doing the same thing. It's sad. Its hypocrisy at its worst.

Most of the Bush Administration should be sent to the Hague. It's pretty obvious, but a lot of people don't seem to get it.
